Hi!  I decided to send the email to Lohani from my yahoo account so we wouldn't have replies bouncing all around.  I will follow up with him and also investigate making a complaint with DCRA (or DOB?) concerning the building permit.  

The site has a permit, but no work is going on right now or planned for the imminent future.  The developer tells me he has other projects needing attention and that there is a pepco vault buried on the 1722 Swann St property and a work around has not yet been found.   

Here is what I sent.  Will keep you all posted via the list serv.  Pls forgive any omissions of names or misspellings.  Anne

Good day. 

I (Anne Carson) transmit herewith a request from residents of our 1700 Block of Swann St (see below list of names).

We ask you to remove promptly the construction materials/debris on your property at 1722 Swann St, NW (see pictures below) and to hire an exterminator to make ongoing regular site visits.  We would also appreciate a reply with your plans to address this issue.     

Rats have taken up residence in and around the construction materials/debris.  A rat appears in the close-up picture.  I myself have seen four-five rats frolicking in the materials/debris from my balcony, which overlooks your lot.  

We very much appreciated your cooperation in addressing neighborhood concerns about the building design for the 1722 Swann St. lot.  

We look forward to continued cooperation to deal with this problem.

Good news, Anne!   I know there is Pepco apparatus on the sidewalk but not on the property.  If so there must be an easement.  We should check this out.
