At both Groton and Dunstable's recent
Town Meetings, voters gave the Selectmen permission to raise Groton and Dunstable residents' taxes over 2 1/2 percent from last year if voters say "yes" at the polls.
A "yes" vote on the override would allow the
Groton Dunstable Regional School District to maintain current teachers, staff and programs.
A "no" vote would result in teacher layoffs and program cuts at all five schools. (See the complete list of cuts at
www.gdrsd.org). Taxes still would be raised to the 2 1/2 percent allowed by law.
The Dunstable Free Public Library is Dunstable's voting location and will be open Monday, May 17 from 12 - 8 p.m.
Groton residents vote at the Middle School North or the Senior Center on Tuesday, May 18. Groton polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
