Whenever I download the mod, everything looks correct except it is not an .exe file. In addition, I get a message saying that it is not a valid instillation of the file. Finally, when I attempt to put the mod in the mod installer, it says that it is not a valid modification package. Any tips for what I am doing wrong?
I have the same issue. Not sure what the problem is. Hoppah can you help us? I have this installed on a older machine. I had the game through GameFly, but they apparently don't do the online stuff for computer games like steam.
You probably understand by now, that I don't know anything about creating mods and everything that goes with it. What I do know however, is that I'm very happy with people like YOU who do understand how to create them and let people like ME do nothing more then simply enjoy them...
With that being said, the forum post should have instructions on how to install the mod. If it doesn't say on the forum, there is likely an installation guide, usually in a notepad file. You can find the list of mods for EM5 here:
It's very rare that a mod will be installed and not be able to be uninstalled, but I haven't looked at the EM5 mods and how they are set up, so it varies. Things that overwrite game files will be unable to be undone. If new files are added, it should be able to be undone by deleting those files. (Don't take my word on this though. )
All you need to do is place the Harbor City folder into your Mods folder, which depending on where you installed the game at, might be at c:\program files (x86)\WizardWorks\911 - First Responders\Mods or c:\program files...\[publisher]\Emergency 4\Mods. If you have the Steam version, then it would probably be under c:\program files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\911 - First Responders or Emergency 4 Deluxe\Mods. The (x86) beside "program files" will only appear if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you have 32-bit, you'll only see "program files".
I am going to be installing some emergency lights in my '14 sierra and looking for a little advise on a couple parts of it. I have my lights from strobes n more. 4-e6 LEDs & 2 e4's. I'm going to put the e6's in the grille and the e4's on a license plate bracket on the back. The two things I'm looking for advise on are how to mount the lights in the grille, they will fit in the openings I'm just not sure how to mount them there. The other is where to run my wires through the firewall into the cab. Any advise would help, hoping someone's done this before and could possibly post some pictures.
Getting some cool new lights installed in my '15. They're called Feneix Cannon hide-aways. They replace OEM bulbs such as fogs, cargo and reverse. They act as a normal bulb but then flash split color or single depending on choice. Mine, once installed, will be white/blue. Also getting two SoundOff Ghost lights in my grill and a deck light. Photos and videos to follow of course.
The problem with my truck is the Denali is not especially friendly to emergency equipment. The huge center console eliminates a lot of controller options and placement of the siren amp, and the sunroof means a lightbar is problematic. This is how I did it.
Download modsYou can download official and featured community mods directly from the EMERGENCY 2017 modding page. Or have a look into the community forums linked there.
Install modsA downloadable mod is a ZIP file containing all data of the modification in apacked form. To install the mod, start EMERGENCY 2017 and go to the menu "Modifications". There you can drag and drop a downloaded ZIP file into the window, and it will get installed automatically:
As far as im concerned one of 2 things is causing this. Either the WIGWAG MOD or u have installed a custom carcols.ymt with flashing headlights enabled. Other than that, Im not sure there is anything else causing that..
I think u should find out what lines u added to carvariations.meta and go back and delete those lines and see if that fixes the problem, What car did u install that required u to add lines to carvariations.meta?
We're currently in a fitting time window that won't be feasible a few years down the line. For me it's kind of a "now or never" question because now we can say emergency services are relatively alive and kicking. Such vehicles and their use (by certain characters or groups) will underline a presence that will likely diminish over the months and years. But having this now and for a while will empower or widen RP aspects because you could have patrolling police drive around, do checkpoints, or have medical personnel respond to emergencies that are called in - or simply have them maintain a presence somewhere. They can do this already, yes. Or could simply use other vehicles. But being represented by vehicles or vehicle skins, rather, would add something to immersion. What is more fitting? If I request an ambulance or cop and have them pull up in a fuel truck or civilian Skoda - or maybe have them pull up with a proper vehicle or at least proper looking vehicle?
If the server can manage with a few (1-2 at least, more are optional) more cars and maybe according car parts and if we talk about adding existing (parts of) mods that won't result in server and stability issues, then I see no issues. The mods in question could also be removed later on once this IC'ly becomes less feasible to free up resources.
These are suggestions - all these mods I found contain one or different type of emergency vehicle. Before we wonder about what to pick, we first need to sort out if we want a few more cars on the road that represent the existing emergency services of Chernarus (or, well, Russia now). Out of the two I prefer the second mod suggestion.
Assuming we are generally in favor of the idea but find the suggested mods lacking (requiring tweaks) or perhaps because the monetization thing will be an issue, maybe our own Devs find inspiration for this to add custom vehicles, or rather, custom textures for existing vehicles we currently use.
Looking at the mods, these are retextures, nothing our devs can't handle, maybe even present something better. It would be great to see the Olga as a Police car (just like the wrecks), the ADA as an ambulance/military vehicle, the Sarka maybe as a Police Car variant the the Volkswagen as a firefighter car (usually used when doing inspections and such).
This section describes how you may implement design changes for emergency equipment that has already been placed into service to ensure that the equipment will perform properly in emergency situations.
Models for emergency light emissive objects have to use the vehicle_lightsemissive shader (more information in our Materials and Shaders guide). They are mapped to colored textures that support transparency. The game then brightens these textures and applies a bloom affect based on the colors used in the texture.
GTA used to support shader properties to increase the brightness of emissive materials, however, this feature was removed (possibly by accident) in a patch a short while after the PC release. Now, to increase the brightness of emergency lights, it is necessary to modify the visualsettings.dat file.
The off settings are used while the engine is off (usually kept unchanged), the on settings while the engine is on. The values for on usually need to be increased to values around 500-1500, depending on the graphics mods used and the brightness desired.
Dynamic Lighting System expands the default lighting system to add light stages, traffic advisor patterns and other features. As DLS uses the default lighting system, DLS vehicles can still be used with properly working lights if DLS is not installed.
Instead of using siren objects, ELS toggles extra components. ELS vehicles are not compatible with vehicles using the default lights or DLS, ELS must be installed in order to use any ELS-compatible vehicle. ELS allows switching between many patterns in-game, however it does not allow creating custom patterns.
Roof Plan. When the scope of work incudes installation of equipment on the roof a Roof Plan is necessary to indicate clearly the location and layout of the proposed Emergency Power System, dimensioned FDNY rooftop access clearances, and rooftop obstructions such as bulkheads, skylights, plumbing pipes, and mechanical equipment. Clearly note the locations of roof drains.
Electrical Riser Diagrams. If the backup power system installation is of 1,000 KVA or more, an Electrical Diagram must be provided that outlines the service switchgear, transformer(s), and transfer switches. These systems require NYC Electrical Advisory Board (EAB) review for its approval of the installation.
Emergency Backup Power installations require, per the Building Code, that certain Special and Progress Inspections be performed during and at the end of construction; see the table below. Prior to Approval, the Applicant is required to identify all required Special and Progress Inspections. Prior to DOB permit issuance, the Owner must engage a registered Special Inspection Agency (SIA) who takes responsibility for the Special and Progress Inspections. Applicants may perform these inspections if they are also registered as a SIA.
