Showme thoughtfulness and I'll show you a loyal friend; the person willing to bend over backwards for others. I am an introvert so I tend to keep to myself and hold my own insecurities and struggles within but I am always an open ear for a good friend.

I am often energetic and upbeat with an extra serving of quirky. I love to "geek out" on science, particularly biochemistry and any science pertaining to health, nutrition, fitness, or animals. Although I struggle with weight issues and a serious sweet tooth I really enjoy fitness...horseback riding, kickboxing, pilates, and HIIT training are my favorites. I also have that crazy horse woman gene...the kind that makes us eat sleep and breathe horses....but at least I admit I'm crazy, right?

Kicking Horse is a relatively new resort near Golden, BC in the Purcell Mountains. It is in the top 10 for vertical drop (lift-served) in North America and has lots of acreage, but only 3 lift pods and only 2 major lifts. It has a reputation for steep inbounds terrain and impressive sidecountry. This review is based on one visit during great (but cold!) conditions.

Our first introduction to Kicking Horse was the single lane bridge that crosses the Columbia River near Golden that you have to cross before making the long climb up to the resort base. We were both looking at each other wondering if we were on the right road. Most of the resorts in BC start at the bottom of valleys, but Kicking Horse Village is built on a bench part way up the mountain.

Every day at Kicking Horse is going to involve lapping one of only 2 lifts that cover most of the lift-served terrain. This is another RCR resort that we skied in 2018 and ALL of them implement cost-cutting measures that are really annoying. At Kicking Horse, they were not running the Pioneer lift which would have been a great way to lap the steep groomers on the lower part of the mountain. It was also warmer down there but there was no way to ski that terrain without waiting in line at the Gondola and then making your way down either Crystal Bowl or Bowl Over.

Almost everything at Kicking Horse is steep. Normally this would be a good thing for us. But this place takes it to the next level and is second only to notorious La Grave in my experience. It makes Taos, NM look easy. The level of the average skier here is incredibly high. We were passed on a sketchy traverse by a group of women that were absolutely ripping up the place. It was humbling.

After one day at Kicking Horse we decided to move on. We were seeking a place with more balanced terrain so instead of spending 2 days there we moved on to nearby Panorama the next day, which turned out to be a great decision.

The rein attachment is a fantastic item that I think is absolutely a must have for this. It shows you exactly how much you want to use the reins for balance! There is no balancing on these reins because of the design, so it forces you to hold the reins/contact without being able to rely on it to stay upright. Clever!

Decidedly Equestrian was founded in 2014 by Rachel Masen and is currently featuring articles from several horse girls from different parts of the United States including California, Ohio and Texas. Feel free to reach out to us for any reason (even to chat!).

Unfortunately, this breadth gives me the opportunity to offend everyone by either talking down to the expert or talking up to the novice. Please forgive me for points that are pitched to alternate skill levels.

I recently wrote about my thoughts on horses and science, for which I was criticized for short-changing science. Imagine my delight in reading the following from this book, written by an accomplished scientist!

Negative reinforcement is a form of training in which we apply painless pressure until a horse responds as we wish. This pressure ranges from barely noticeable to moderate, depending upon the situation, and often falls into the category of encouragement. As soon as the horse responds, we remove the pressure.

It is clear throughout that book that the author has affection, admiration, and respect for the horse. She succeeds in providing a wealth of information to better understand the horse. Her clear objective is to improve the bonding with a horse she believes we should all have, and that the relationship between horse and rider is a unique one.

Asked which species of animal is best at mutual communications with humans, most people would guess dogs. After all, dogs are the most common pet and have evolved an innate alertness to human signals. But I believe that potential for cross-species communication is much greater between horses and riders. Why? Because in addition to the voice, gesture, and body language we use with dogs, our bodies are in frequent contact with our horses. Each party transmits and receives information through skin, muscles, tendons, weight distribution, and balance. This contact triggers that dance between equine and human neurons that I mentioned a moment ago.

For those who finish the book and want more, there is a rich list of source materials at the back, listed by chapter. You can comb through those to find books, articles, and websites to further explore any topic covered in this book.

It is difficult to convey just how much I adore this book! As you can see from the photo at the top, I already have my copy well flagged for future reference (and that was when I was only halfway through it). I have been urging anyone who will listen to get a copy, and am already responsible for a dozen or more orders/pre-orders, that I know of.

This book is truly a must read for anyone who wants to better understand horses and, more importantly, to improve the relationship they have with their current horse(s). And, as the author says, there may be other benefits to be had.

This book was not made to make you feel like another predictable animal of instinct, but instead it was made to make you feel seen as an individual soul. You are not the fox, nor the horse, nor the mole, nor the boy alone, but a combination of these, and then some.

The Ford Mustang Dark Horse is a fresh take on an icon. Ford wanted a pony car with track capability and road friendliness at a (relatively) reasonable price. A 500-horsepower menace resulted, equipped with the most powerful naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 of any Mustang ever.

Back in August, I spent time with this car on the track, and it was pretty damn good. Now I've got the Dark Horse in my driveway for a week and I'm curious to see what it's like to live with. This one has the 10-speed automatic instead of the six-speed manual (boo!), and a standard MagneRide adaptive suspension. This test car forgoes the optional Handling Pack, which stiffens the suspension and adds stickier P Zero Trofeo RS tires. But for around-town use, that's fine.

With seven horses, three in one pasture and four in another, they were easily devouring two round rolls in about ten days. After about day seven, what was left of the round rolls was usually strewn out all over creation, as well as having been stomped and covered in manure. Even with the help of a ring surrounding the roll, we were still encountering the same issues. Seeing this, all I could manage picturing was the horses stomping and relieving themselves all over dollar bills.

The saddles and equipment are also cute, but I do wish there was a bit more to choose from. There were a lot of Western options and fewer English ones, but I did love the color variety. The same can be said for the new clothing items and accessories for the human Sims, as most of it is all cowboy-related. I did what I could though, and ended up with a cute couple, one horse, and one glittery unicorn.

The last Klon Clone we did was the Ai Express clone and that was 40 (Read Review here), Well, this one is even cheaper! The Mosky Golden Horse comes in at around 20 (depending on deals and place of purchase) it is a steal, so I grabbed myself one, opened it up and gave it a spin. So the question is, do you need to fork out hundreds if not thousands of pounds on Klon? Can you just buy this one? Well, let us find out, shall we?

For the demo song, you will hear my Custom Strat into the Pedal into my Revv D20, using the direct out Into my interface. For the sound demos, you will hear the Strat and various sounds from the Klon pedal.

I do think the power Jack would have been better placed at the top of the pedal rather than the side, but this is a minor detail. Just makes cable management a bit weird and strange when putting it on a pedalboard.

Most importantly how does it sound? for low gain and boost sounds, this pedal is perfect! I have been using it as a boost for solos, adding a bit more gain to the tone but mainly increasing volume. It does this perfectly! However, it can also do those smooth, low overdrive sounds very easily and you can even get some nice high gain sound out of this pedal, using it with high gain and high volume to push an already overdriven amp harder! As overdrive pedal go, this one is just fine!

When I tried looking into this game last year I decided not to buy it with so many bad reviews out there. People were not rating the game at all and said it was very similar to the FREE mobile version on the app store. So I downloaded the mobile version instead and got my fix for a few days.

However, being on lockdown I have sometimes struggled finding things to keep me entertained. So I started looking into the game again and with it only being 20 on Microsoft store, I thought I would just buy it and see what I thought. Maybe i just had really low expectations, but I loved it!
