Swagger UI - hashmap not rendering in response model

I am using springfox version 2.5.0 with swagger annotations 1.5.0

In my class  I have defined the field:

private HashMap<String, Device> devices;

In the swagger-ui response model it get rendered with brackets 

"devices": {}

Can anyone point me what needs to be done in order get the hashmap  rendered as part of the  swagger-ui response model ?

Swagger-ui doesn’t render maps at the moment.
