Namaskar ravinder sanjay ji,

I have gone through the whole website of "soumovement" but it leaves me in a state of shock. Let me give my opinion in detail.

1. The statue is being made by an Indian citizen, the statue being made is of a true citizen of India BUT the companies which are involved in making it are totally foreign. The project is being handled by an International consortium where two american companies and one Australian company are involved. What was the reason behind the project given to some foreign companies when state -of-art indigenous construction companies like Lanco Infratech ltd, Maninfraconstruction ltd, etc are present on Indian soil. The construction time might have taken 5 yrs instead of 2.5 yrs as proposed now in the website. But we as Indian citizens would have stood tall in front of the colossal statue and proud to call it "total swadeshi", but foreign hands are involved in making them then I am not at all happy in joining any such movement.

2. Foreign companies being involved in making Sardar patel's statue shows how illiterate and unskilled we Indians are that we cannot even make a statue of our leader without the help of foreigners.

3. The soumovement website states "Statue of Unity is being constructed as a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – the ‘Iron Man of India’. ". But try and recall that Sardar patel was a staunch follower of Mahatma Gandhi ji's principles. Gandhiji believed in "purna swaraj" and believed India cannot attain total independence until and unless we become dependent on only indigenous materials the same way China and Japan has become in the past. Then WHY did these foreign companies need to be involved in India ???

I see the whole movement as another political gimmick and nothing else but am very sad that it is indulging the name of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who stood for country first and not himself or his party.

Thankyou

Ragesh
