All,

Sorry for the late notice. I thought I sent this out last week and then found it sitting in my draft folder.

Eight years after launching PAWS of Southwest to build Lansburgh Dog Park, the number of volunteers available to help maintain it and to educate and promote responsible dog ownership in SW is at an all-time low. We need your help with new ideas, new strategies, and new energy!

If you can, please join us for a meeting next Sunday, March 30 at 2:00 pm at the Safeway Starbucks. Alternatively, I welcome the opportunity to talk with you and to meet with you on a different day/time/location.

Thank you!

Dear ALL,

I believe that one of the reasons we're at an all-time-low is because the pet owners that we inisitally started with have moved on.  There's a whole new group of pet owners at Carrollsburg,  A Condominium and they do not know that SW Paws exist.  What we must do is hang flyers with info on how the new pet owners can be a part.  We need to reach our new neighbors that are also in the townhouses as well.

Just a suggestion.

It saddens me that all the hard work, planning, organizing is falling by the wayside.  We just need to let our new neighnbors know we exist.  I'm happy to place flyers in the townhouse mailboxes at Carrollsburg.

Thanks,
-kat

to SW Dog Park
I just read your note.  I am sorry that attendance is low.  I tell everyone about the park. Some have been there but they lament there are no other dogs.

I now live in SE near the baseball stadium and will walk over with the surviving dog on occasion..likewise I am sorry that there are no other dogs when we go.

There are people looking for new places to take their dogs--maybe there should be a map?  I noticed a new park at the end of M St. (by 11th)...no shade but used frequently.  The dog park at the Whole Foods (New JerseyAve.) is often filled but I understand it's uncomfortable in the winter.  We have the small dog park in the Yards--it's convenient but not kept up.  So, each park has its strengths and weaknesses.  Can you articulate the strengths of your dog park?

If I can be of help let me know.

Cindy
