All:  See below.

I encourage you to attend this focus group meeting and to re-engage to protect the dog-friendly gains we have made in SW over the past 7-8 years.

As you have probably read on various list serves and/or experienced yourself over the past year, there is some tension around dog poop, off-leash dogs at Amidon, Jefferson, and near the Titanic Memorial, untrained dogs/inexperienced dog owners, and underutilization of the Lansburgh Dog Park.

With support from SWBID, now is an excellent time to voice your ideas and proposed solutions! Is another dog park at Jefferson Field needed/wanted?  Should a public dog park be a new community benefit provided by a private property owner/developer? Should we petition DPR or Humane Rescue Alliance to provide free or discounted dog training classes in SW?

Mark your calendars and come to the focus group!

Subject: SW Resident Pet Focus Group

Hello,

Thank you again for completing our pet survey back in May!

As Southwest’s pet population continues to grow, our Better Cities for Pets grant will allow us to support pet-friendly improvements and educate the community on how to be a responsible pet owner and neighbor. Whether you own a pet or not, we'd love to spend some more time hearing directly from you about the unique needs, wishes, and emerging issues surrounding pets here in SW. After all, happy pets = happy people!

We would like to invite you to join us for a conversation on all things pets Thursday, August 15th, from 6-7 pm, at the SWBID offices (420 4th St SW). Snacks will be provided. Please fill out this form to RSVP

Thank you and we look forward to your participation!

Dear SW Dog Owners and Friends:

Please attend the focus group meeting on Thursday, August 15 to protect the dog-friendly gains we have made in SW over the past 7-8 years.

With support from SW Business Improvement District, now is an excellent time to generate new ideas and amenities for “our best friends!” Is another dog park needed/wanted?  Should a public dog park be a new community benefit provided by a private property owner/developer? Should we petition DPR or Humane Rescue Alliance to provide free or discounted dog training classes in SW?

RSVP NOW!

 Hi Bridget,

I’m sorry not to be able to attend this meeting. I’m in Mexico until Saturday.

Perhaps I can plug in afterwards?

Best,
