Thebook was released again on August 8, 2014 as part of Star Wars: The Jedi Path and Book of Sith Deluxe Box Set with The Jedi Path that included two art prints depicting figures from Sith and Jedi history,[3] and again in September 27, 2016 as Star Wars: Secrets of the Galaxy Deluxe Boxed Set with the Imperial Handbook and Bounty Hunter Code.[4]
The Sith have existed in the galaxy for centuries, lurking, waiting for their chance to seize control. As various Sith Lords emerged and rose to power, they recorded their thoughts, exploits, and plots for Sith control of the galaxy. When they fell, their knowledge vanished with them forever. Or so it seemed. . . .
Removable features: A scrap of a Sith burial shroud, a battle map from the Great Galactic War, a Sith lightsaber crystal, a Nightsister talisman, a diagram detailing Palpatine's political strategies during the Clone Wars, and a propaganda poster for the Galactic Empire, and a note from Luke Skywalker[1]
In his quest for total domination, Darth Sidious compiled six legendary dark side texts detailing Sith history and philosophy by Sorzus Syn, Darth Malgus, Darth Bane, Mother Talzin, Darth Plagueis, and himself. Together these documents form the Book of Sith. Over the centuries, the texts were passed among Force users who left handwritten notes and annotations in the margins, including Darth Vader, Yoda, Mace Windu, and Luke Skywalker, among others. Collected by acclaimed Star Wars writer Daniel Wallace and embellished by numerous esteemed Star Wars illustrators, this volume introduces new characters and history, and delves deeper into understanding the philosophies and methods behind the dark side of the Force.[2]
The caption under the picture on Page 13 claims that Xendor and the Legions of Lettow fought the Jedi on "Corbos." Based on the text on the same page this was a typo, and instead, the caption should have read "Columus."[5] Corbos was correctly referred to in the caption and text of the previous page.
It will have statements on these subjects from the likes of Darth Revan, Lord Vitiate, Darth Sidious, Mace Windu, Darth Malgus, Yoda, Asajj Ventress, Luke Skywalker and even Darth Plagueis, this thread will be about the contents of the novel and things we previously did not know about the Sith and the Dark Side of the Force.
Thousands of years later, the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Bane wrote about Darth Malgus in the book The Rule of Two. The Sith Lord Darth Sidious eventually obtained some surviving excerpts of Malgus' journals from an antiquities dealer, and he gave the diary to his apprentice Darth Vader, to inspire him.
Yes, I agree completely about the case, add the fact that the book is written by so many great authors is my main incentive, I already have mine Pre-ordered, just need to go into Waterstones tomorrow.
The quote from Darth Sidious is giving me the idea that the Sith Empire may actually win this war, confirming his statement that 'Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy...' is actually a factual statement and not a mere slip up in the script/writing.
Also, the war between the Sith Empire will probably end with the empire shattering after a few decades, but will also probably end up with a shattered republic. What this conflict is leading too is the New Sith Wars and the dark age of the Star Wars universe. What we are seeing is the Roman Empire as the Republic breaking under the weight of corruption and foreign threats.
A fact that supports my point is that when the New Sith Wars start the Republic is a shadow of the one pictured in the Old Republic, while sith space is a dozen clans and small empires owning about 70% of explored space
My only question is whether I keep mine at home to inspire me while playing TOR, or on my desk at work so my colleagues can see that here is a senior call centre designer with the full power of the Dark Side at his command.
You have absolutely caught the ways of the Sith and pictured them in clear detail for all to see, the Book of Sith, is absolutely outstanding, where I would normally refer to Mr.Karpyshyn's Darth Bane trilogy, I must now refer to your book.
I would also like to state you have fit the Great Galactic War/Cold War in perfectly, the fact we now have statements from Darth Sidious himself, makes this entire era a lot more important in my eyes.
I could sit here and type all day about why I love this book, but I think in short it would be better to say, thank you, thank you for restoring my faith in the canon, it seems much more fluid after reading that, and it does a great service to all Star Wars canon in my eyes.
If you are dark side, he comments upon what power you have, whether that power will destroy you as it had destroyed him. He then mentions about 'Our secret' or 'The secret of the Sith Lords' (or something to that effect - I might play through it again just to satisfy my point ) It's not the Star Map, because you say about that and he dismisses it. Therefore, is it possibility, with KotOR2 entitled 'Sith Lords', that we indeed unveil this secret that Ajunta Pall speaks of? 'Will you find it?' Ajunta Pall asks Revan. The disappearance of Revan at the beginning of KotOR2 may suggest Revan has gone to find that secret. Dark Side or Light Side. This plot opens similar oppurtunities for boths scenarios - Revan, the redempted jedi, falling to the dark side yet again uncovering the secret of the sith lords. Or Revan, the disgraced dark jedi lusting for power after the destruction of the star forge in the failed war fought by the sith against the republic. This has got my mind whizzing. It's a possibility, but then again, I might be wrong. :D
"Some men see things as they are and say why?"
"I dream things that never were and say why not?"
- George Bernard Shaw
"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."
- Friedrich Nietzsche
Hmm, that's actually not a bad train of thought.. I too just dismissed what he was talking about as the star forge. I believe he doesn't disagree with any of your suggestions so much as he doesn't quite remember what you will actually find.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, he must be referring to some other contraption. I believe Revan and Malak were the first Sith who found the Star Forge and used its powers. There's no mention of the ancient Sith lords using any kind of Rakatan factory, way back when they were trying to gain power. Ajunta must be referring to something else, I guess.
"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
He was talking about the Star Map in Naga Sadows tomb on Korriban. He talked about drawing his "Dark Power" from it because it was so tainted with the Darkside. Ajunta Pall was an interesting character, but not interesting enough to base the meat of the story of KOTOR 2 around in my opinion. However it would be nice to finally get some more background information on him, considering all we really know is he was one of the Sith that founded Korriban back when the Dark Jedi were expelled by the Jedi council. He must have been one hell of a bad ass to have a Sith Tomb in the company of Marka Ragnos and Naga Sadow. Another thing who the hell is Tulak Hord? Bioware just making up random Sith without any background info?
