"Morpheus [Research], like other activist short-sellers, profits from declines in the stock prices of companies they target. Their reports are often framed in a pessimistic light, and they openly disclose their financial interests in the outcomes. Community discussions and some analysts have pointed out that Morpheus's claims, at least in the case of Backblaze, relied on allegations from dismissed lawsuits and may not have provided solid evidence of wrongdoing. Readers are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence and not rely solely on Morpheus's conclusions."

And looking at Wasabi’s website, it doesn’t appear to be Mac-friendly. Years ago I looked at Carbonite for online backup, but it only backed up the internal drive. Taking another look now, they backup the internal drive and one external drive. So that’s better. BackBlaze backs up all external drives connected to a single computer.
While this article is kinda shocking, it says nothing about the safety or reliability of the BackBlaze service itself.
