A recent release by APPLE SENTITY LLC is the Metallica performance video. The video has been released in the MV-HEVC format for immersive spatial viewing. It may also have been released in a flat video format; I'm not sure. But I think, given the expense of the production, they would want to have a flat video version as well as the immersive spatial video.
I have seen the immersive spatial video. Its 3D presentation is impressive. It is an outstanding effort, though I have read some criticism concerning the video editing and camera movements.
The drummer, Lars, one of the co-founders of Metallica, was filmed using a stationary camera positioned next to the drum set, just off his left shoulder. In views from the mobile cameras, the front of this 3D camera was visible. It seems to me that this camera is not the Blackmagic 3D cinematic camera that was released for purchase this past February. The front of the lens appears different from that of the Blackmagic. Additionally, the camera used in the production is not merely a set of strapped ordinary cinematic cameras. The press release states, "Apple built a custom stage plot featuring 14 Apple Immersive Video cameras, utilizing a mix of stabilized cameras, cable-suspended cameras, and remote-controlled camera dolly systems that moved around the stage."
So there may be another contender for an immersive spatial camera. Maybe Apple made their own?
