Hello SVMUG members,

This is an update to the information presented at our last meeting on generative image creation.

With an update on September 13th (yesterday), Adobe's generative image creation tool is no longer in beta development. Images can now be used in commercial products. They have also instituted a subscription fee. Credits for image generation are allocated monthly to Creative Cloud, Express, Adobe Stock, a standalone plan, and other types of Adobe subscriptions. The credits do not roll over each month — the user credits are reset each month. A user can buy additional credits if needed. This is similar to the credit system used for Adobe Stock media.

As far as I can determine, this is the only AI-generative media not under copyright dispute and can be used in commercial products.

Adobe plans to add video and animation generation soon.
