Hello SVMUG members and friends,

On January 29, 2024, the US Copyright Office released Part 2 of its "Copyright and Artificial Intelligence" report, focusing on copyrightability.

If a photographer uses AI to transform their original photograph, the resulting work is copyrighted to the photographer.

Key actions to secure copyright:
Selection of the original photograph.
Guidance of the AI transformations.
Manual adjustments to achieve the final result.

Photography-based AI transformations are not just innovative but legally defensible under copyright law.
