MEETING TOPIC: Getting Started With Home Automation
Richard Gunther will discuss getting started with smart home tech in the Apple world. Whether you’re just installing a few smart bulbs or envisioning a complex, automated system, Apple's HomeKit may be more powerful than you’d expect. He’ll share some real-world examples, tips, and perhaps even some unsolicited advice on how to best set up your smart Apple home.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER: Richard Gunther
Richard is a longtime smart home expert, podcast host, consultant, and one of the O.G. voices in connected home tech. Richard has been deep in the smart home world for decades, starting with X10 and HomeSeer and evolving through Insteon, Amazon Alexa, HomeKit, Home Assistant, and everything in between.
Richard’s hosted numerous podcasts over the years, including the Home: On, Entertainment 2.0, and The Smart Home Show. He’s also participated in and facilitated several conference panels on smart lighting and smart kitchen topics. When he’s not installing smart lighting, switches, and sensors around his home, you might find Richard laser engraving, making things on one of his 3D printers, or fixing something at his vacation rental property.
The Smart Home Show (Hosts Richard Gunther and Adam Justice explore the smart home and home automation universe.)
