MEETING TOPIC:Β  Apple's Accessible World
From Macs and phones to watches and even ginormous headsets, Apple products boast features that make them accessible to people with all kinds of disabilities. The company is celebrating its 40th year of accessibility, in 2025, and though there have been gaps in that timeline wide enough to drive a 27-inch iMac through, the arc of progress has continued upward.Β
So what does accessibility mean for people who want to use Apple products? What are the greatest hits of the feature sets, and what are some things that could use a bit more thought? When your friend, or mom, or spouse asks, "can I use an iPhone, and how will my experience be,' what should you say? And if you don't know what to say, what's a good way of finding out?Β
All this and more from Shelly Brisbin, journalist, podcaster, and author of β€œiOS Access for All, your Comprehensive Guide to Accessibility for iPhone and iPad”.Β
