Using the Apple Vision Pro in surgeries

Hello SVMUG members and friends,

The Apple Vision Pro (AVP) has been tested as a display for surgeons performing endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR). These procedures involve the tear ducts and, in modern surgeries, use robotically controlled instruments with video cameras equipped with microscope lenses. 

In the studies, surgeons evaluated the operative time, functional success, intraoperative complications, surgeon-reported ergonomics, and perceived workload. 

The results showed a much reduced operative time, no complications, reduced workload, and a reduction in physical demands placed on the surgeons. 

At the end of the study, all surgeons favored the use of the AVP.
