SVG Web ignores font-family in IE 8

I am having trouble getting fonts to render in the Flash object, in IE 8.

In the example below, I set a font-family attribute on an SVG text node and use @font-face to load the font. The text looks perfect when I force flash in IE 9, FF and Webkit. But IE 8 renders the text in the default IE 8 font.
