beginElement() not supported?

[argv]

I was trying to use SVG Web with an SVG that uses declarative
animation controlled by a script. The script calls beginElement() on
the SVG DOM nodes of the various animation elements (<animate> and
similar) to start animations as appropriate.

While this works fine in Batik, SVG Web doesn't seem to implement that
method. Is that the case? Is there something special I should do, or
some other way to activate declarative animations from scripts in SVG
Web?

We don't support that, mainly because nobody has ever asked for it.  :)
I entered Issue 489 for beginElement(). No doubt we need to do it.
That should be pretty easy, so I'll probably get to it in the next few days.

Sorry for the delay on beginElement(). The thing I've been working on is taking a little longer than expected but beginElement is still my next priority so it will be coming soon. At this point my best guess is that it will be done by May 23rd.
