Subject: Google annual community service week and collaboration

Hi Sridevi/Rakesh,

I work in Google. We have annual event - GoogleServe during first two weeks
of June.
In those events, Googlers across the world come together and work for
community for a day.

For example: in Hyderabad - we setup a library in Rasoolpoora slum
donated , books/racks.
We volunteered in blue cross, white washed a govt. School and spread
awareness on plastic, did tree plantation etc activities.

If you think, there is any project possible on which we (Svechha and Google
Hyd) can work together then please let me know. I can talk to our internal
team.

thoughts/suggestions?

Regards,
RohitSetia

hi,
i was hoping that we could try our hand at cleaning a lake.planting a tree though a very effective and collaborative idea, needs effort in their maintainence, which is a very tough job

Hi Rajesh,

One of Googler who works for Sea turtle conservation and lake cleaning etc projects, is already working on lake cleaning for community service week.
We are in process of getting approval for 2 lakes and then we need to work on vaccination of volunteers (to avoid allergy from chemicals ) before we start lake cleaning.

Rakesh has already spoken to officials for tree plantation and if we get nearby areas - we are ok with maintenance part also (thats make it more effective).

Thanks,
Rohit

Hi, we have the below list of colonies/locations for our convenience to take-up the plantation as said earlier;

Option-1: KPHB Colony
Option-2: Doyen's Township, OU Colony etc.. near Hyd Central Uni, Gachi Bowli
Option-3: Kavuri Hills (Madhapur) & Hylam Colony, ICRISAT Colony, Venkatagiri (near Road  No.10, Jubilee Hills)
Option-4: Punjagutta to ESI main road

Hi Rakesh,

We can prefer Option 1 and Option 2. But, option 3 actually has the need from my view of we can get volunteers in that area.

We can see if HBC wants to take up Option 5.

Thanks, Sridevi
