St. Vincent de Paul Happenings at Christ the King
Recently, a man reached out to us during an incredibly difficult time. After losing the mother of his children to an overdose, he faced overwhelming grief and financial strain. In the midst of his depression, he missed several weeks of work and ultimately lost his job. Thankfully, when he shared his situation, his employer welcomed him back with open arms.
During this dark period, something powerful began to change within him. He shared, “I was able to see the light. I gave my life to God. I realize my purpose is to provide, nurture, and support my children. With that, I have picked myself up from the ground. I need help, and this would be an amazing blessing to get me back on my feet. God is good, and I’m going to turn a million people toward Him.”
Inspired by this transformation, he made meaningful changes in his life—removing all drugs from his home and recommitting himself to being the father his young children, ages 3 and 5, need.
Through the generosity of Christ the King’s St. Vincent de Paul Society, along with assistance from neighboring conferences, we were able to cover the rent he had fallen behind on. This support has given his family a much-needed fresh start and renewed hope for the future.
Thank you for your continued generosity, which makes stories like this possible. If you feel called to be part of this ministry, please contact the parish office, and your message will be shared with a St. Vincent de Paul member to get back to you.
