Hi team,

Please see attached flyers for free meal offerings throughout the summer months in the Omaha-metro area for families and children.

The Salvation Army is serving Miller Park, Benson Park, Hitchcock Park, and the Community Bible church. See the flyer for hours.

Papillion LaVista Community schools offer free breakfast and lunch for children and those accompanying the minor at LaVista West Elementary.

Wildewood Elementary, Mockingbird Elementary, Ralston Middle School, and Ralston High School are also offering free breakfast and lunch for children and a nominal fee for those accompanying the minor.

Lastly, the SSVP district office offers a free lunch from 10:30-11:30 AM on weekdays. However, if neighbors come during fairly normal business hours, we won't let them go hungry!

For those that are aware, my sister-in-law, who is married to the oldest brother (Mike) has been fighting cancer for a long time (lung and then metastasized to the brain).  She has been in the hospital since May 24 after falling. The hospital tried several times to move her to a hospice facility but health and/or lack of bed prevented it.

Yesterday she had two mini-strokes and finally was called home at 10:35pm.  She is finally at peace.   Though reality will now hit my brother.   My two older brothers and I have all lost a wife to cancer.   All different cancers. 

I am relieved that she went.
