...SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL AND THUNDER POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND... LOW PRESSURE WILL PUSH NORTHEASTWARD INTO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA THIS WEEKEND.  WARM AIR AHEAD OF THIS LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON IS LIKELY TO CAUSE TEMPERATURES TO REACH THE WARMEST VALUES THIS YEAR.  THESE WARM TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO LEAD TO THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVIER SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS LATE AFTERNOON SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY EVENING.  LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE INTO CALIFORNIA SUNDAY WITH SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND SOUTHWEST OREGON.  SNOW LEVELS SATURDAY WILL BE NEAR 8000 FEET...LOWERING TO 6000 TO 7000 FEET SUNDAY. THOSE CAMPING OR PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR RAPIDLY DETERIORATING CONDITIONS.  CHECK YOUR MEDFORD NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES FOR FURTHER UPDATES.

With bad weather and a major Holiday, it is critical to ensure you have good wipers and window defroster if you plan any driving.  Slow down and allow more space between your vehicle and others.  When a roadway appears flooded, be extra cautious if there's a possibility of it being washed out.  Remember:  if your wipers are on, the law requires your HEADLIGHTS to also be on.  And lastly, the Move Over Law requires drivers to change lanes if able or move over and away from any stopped emergency vehicles.
