Good afternoon
Businesses unite to be better prepared against disasters
Statistics reveal that 50% of Australian small and medium size enterprises have no disaster preparedness plan while only 16% of larger firms are without a plan.
Local businesses are encouraged to attend Caboolture and Morayfiled Business Roundtable EXTEND event where they can learn and share information about being better prepared and better connected. Participants will take away local Emergency Contact Lists and get help starting their own Business Continuity Plan.
“Few businesses feel they have the time to invest in disaster preparedness or business continuity planning. Fewer businesses still know where to access the documentation and expertise necessary to fully understand the impact of risks local to their area, and put in place measures to be better prepared. Participating in a Business Roundtable EXTEND solves these problems” said Peter Cooper, Head of Commercial Banking Gold Coast - Westpac Retail and Business Banking.
Good business continuity plans will help to keep a business up and running through interruptions of any kind: power failures, IT system crashes, supply chain problems and more, including natural disasters.
