Today's outage was caused by FairPoint, who, for some reason had to
reconfigure the circuit.Characteristically, they didn't let Sovernet
know.
Many thanks to Beth for being the first to report the outage to Sovernet. Once she had done so, Sovernet contacted FairPoint. Only then did FairPoint let them in on it.
This morning I had no connection, pinged and telneted both school and milk house successfully, concluded that it was not a SVBC problem and took the best step I could: I called Al.
That conversation resulted in my calling Sovernet, talked to Jason (who was great), got the dope, and the network was, coincidentally, almost immediately.
