To pre-empt continual or total failure of the milk-house antenna,
volunteers climbed on to the building's roof yesterday and spent four
hours sealing connections and repeatedly lowering and raising the
antenna and its mount for testing. Alan Clayson led the charge and did
all the more complicated work. Ken Butcher, who cannot even receive
our signals, showed up anyway and lent an effective hand and mind.
Certain connections on the antenna seemed to have been less than water
proof. One, in fact, had developed its own soggy environment to the
point where it could--and did--support life. The life in questions was
that of a few larvae and maggots.
We have very hope that our labors have ensured connectivity for all
members receiving signals from that antenna.
The entire crew comprised Ken Butcher, Alan Clayson, George Beckwith,
Chip Lovett, Dana Wilson, and Peter Grudin.
