Subject: Men's breakfast meeting this Sat 3/1 8-9:30am

Dear brothers,

Just a friendly reminder of our monthly breakfast meeting
this coming Sat, Mar 1, from 8:00-9:30am at SVAC rooom D3.
Our topic for the month is "Priorities".

Please join our breakfast group for a warm sharing with other men.
Feel free to bring some food to share, and bring a friend too.

Here's a brief highlight of the discussion topic:
(From Man In The Mirror)

- Life's many options compete for our priorities.
- To "prioritize" means to arrange in order of importance
- When we set priorities and determine to follow through,
we are literally writing history in advance
- Secular values lead to secular priorities.
- Biblical values lead to biblical priorities
- Bill Walton, co-founder of Holiday Inns who experienced a late-in-life
conversion, once spoke at an outreach dinner. Looking back in his life,
he concluded: "I exhort you young men. Learn to live by Biblical priorities!"

- A practical example of Jesus (Luke 4:42-44)

At daybreak Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking
for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from
leaving them. But he said, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of
God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent." And he kept
on preaching in the synagogues of Judea.  (Luke 4:42-44)

Note that:
1. People tried to keep Jesus away from his priorities
2. Jesus knew his purpose
3. Jesus did what he was called to do, based on priorities, not pressures

Questions to think about

- Have you set priorities with respect to the following areas in life?
o leisure
o relationship with God
o finances
o relationship with friends
o work
o relationship with wife (if married)
o ministry
o relationship with children (if a father)
o health

- How do your dreams and hopes for your children reflect your own priorities?

- How does "the world" compete in your life with biblical priorities?

- Do you know what God wants you to be, wants to to do, wants you to use your ti
me and money?

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will
be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33)
