Dear Brothers,
I hoped all of you enjoy the the recent Men's Retreat on "Second
Mile", As suggested by Pastor Yew, one of the most effective way to
deal with temptation is accountability within a small group you trust.
Chapter 23 of the "The Man in the Mirror" gives an excellent overview
of this topic. If the following paragraph describes you, then I
sincerely invite you to come this Saturday morning.
Most of our conversation revolves around the cliche level of life --
news, sports, and weather. But this is the tip of the iceberg -- the
visible you. The real you wrestles with gut-wrenching issues in the
key areas of our lives every day -- purposes, priorities, goals,
ambitions, motives, relationships with Lord, home life, use of time
and money, moral and ethical behavior, pride, fear, anger, problems,
suffering discouragement. We each need someone to help us navigate
around the submerged dangers of an unexamined life.
Details:
Time: Sat 10/4 8 AM - 9:30 AM (yes I know it is early. But isn't it a
good feeling you could finish it while your family is still not
awake?)
Place: Orange Room (English fellowship room)
Topic: Accountability, the Missing Link (Chapter 23 of the "The Man in
the Mirror")
We will bring some hearty breakfast here and please bring your own
coffee/tea mug.
So are you man enough and ready for your "Second Mile"?
In His Service,
Lawrence Chow and Jin Wen
