Dear brothers,

Greetings on behalf of the Men's ministry.

Just a friendly reminder of our monthly breakfast meeting
this coming Sat Apr 5, from 8:00-9:30am at SVAC rooom D3.

Please join our breakfast group for a warm sharing with other men.
Feel free to bring some food to share, and bring a friend too.

Our topic for the month is "Time Management".
Here's a highlight of the discussion (From Man In The Mirror Ch11):

- So many of us are pushing hard all the time. Life seems to be a struggle.
Do we, or do we not, have enough time to do everything?

- Our purpose, our priorities, our plans and goals determine how we
spend our time. How we spend our time, in turns, determine who and
  what we are.

- Apostle Paul, Billy Graham, Bill Bright, Martin Luther, Abraham Lincoln,
you and me.  We all have the same 168 hours in a week to work with.
Why do we get different results?

- The time management problem is less a technique problem than a strategic
problem. It is how we convert our priorities into a plan of action.

- Bill Bright, co-founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, didn't become
a great leader by doing great things, but by doing many little things
in a single direction. When totaled, the sum of them was found to be
great. He tried to prioritize everything he did in light of the Great
Commission. Dr Bright knows his life purpose.
That makes setting priorities and time management a lot easier.

- The solution is a clear understanding of God's purpose for our lives,
living by biblical priorities, making plans which reflect God's
will for our lives, and spend the time accordingly.

- Nothing wastes more time for the Christian than pursuing his own independent
will --  It could be useless to do a good job, unless it is also the right job to do.

- Discerning God's will is the cornerstone we must lay before we mobilize
ourselves --  God always provides enough time and resources to
accomplish God's plans. (Jesus fed the 5000)

Questions to think about

- So many of us are pushing hard all the time. Life seems to be a struggle.
What are the things in life that you feel are important but can't find
  the time to attend to?

- Are you doing anything with your time that has the potential to last
forever? Are you consumed with supporting a lifestyle or other personal
ambitions that everything you are doing will be left behind?

- What is an area where you have been pushing too hard? What changes could
you make to acknowledge and better enjoy God's plan for your life?

- Read Proverbs 16:3. What do you think it means to "commit to the Lord
whatever you do, and your plans will succeed?

Bible verses

 Proverbs 16
1 To man belong the plans of the heart,
but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue.

2 All a man's ways seem innocent to him,
but motives are weighed by the LORD.

3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
    and your plans will succeed.

4 The LORD works out everything for his own ends
even the wicked for a day of disaster.
