What: Silicon Valley Google App Engine Developers May Meeting
When: Wednesday, May 21 at 7:00PM
Who: At least 42 People interested in Web Tech. There's still room for 23 more.
Where:
Clark Center, Seminar Room S360
318 Campus Drive 3rd Floor (behind Peet's coffee)
Stanford CA 94305
Agenda:
Rafe Kaplan, one of the core engineers working on Google AppEngine and
the primary maintainer for the Datastore Model API, will talk about
the system. Bill Katz will review his soon-to-be-released open-sourced
Bloog app that lets you put a blog/homepage on GAE. He'll point out
some interesting features of the app, including decorators for
authentication/authorization, convention-over-configuration for
controllers/views, some caching (globals) and timing experiments, and
the Resource-Oriented Architecture (advocated in the O'Reilly book
"RESTful Web Services"). Possibly another talk to be arranged. Plus
Lightning Talks -- informal 5 minute talks showing apps and hopefully
something cool or interesting from a development/design perspective.
