Title: Technical Writer

Job description:
Please note that this is a 11 month contract position.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree required. Software or Systems Engineering
degree preferred.
2. At least 4 years experience as a Technical Writer in a
multi-discipline product-development organization.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
The objective for this position is to create documentation and
training material for global teams deploying our services
products around the world. The content is not only technical,
providing training for test and development organizations, but
also has a marketing/business overview that lays the foundation
for a good in-depth understanding of our products.
* Collect product information from product development and test teams
* Create documentation and training material related to basic
functionality of the product, configuration, and test procedures
* Validate training material with members of the product
development and test teams
* Publish documentation and training materials in ways that are
easy to access
* Announce the availability of materials and conduct training as
needed
* Take feedback and make improvements to the publications
* Manage the process of updating technical requirements
specifications that are generated by a bug reporting database
* Serve as webmaster for internal sites. This includes creating
content, editing other contributor*s postings in order to
maintain uniformity across the entire site, and exploring the
company intranet for useful pages to link to.
* Implement documentation infrastructure as needed to educate and
inform other groups both inside and outside the company
Specific Knowledge/Skills (required)
* Experience using Wiki technologies, Microsoft Office
applications (include MS PowerPoint and Visio), Adobe FrameMaker,
Adobe Acrobat, and HTML editors is required.
* Experience creating MS PowerPoint slides and Macromedia Flash
animations are required.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability
to present complex topics to technical and non-technical
audiences are required
* Experience with Google Android platform is required.
* Experience with documenting network infrastructures and
topologies is required
Additional skills/experience (desired)
* Prior cellular phone/2-way radio/paging or similar wireless
subscriber engineering experience is highly desired.
* Prefer experience with Client handset software development process.
* Experience or familiarity with Java, C++, JavaScript or XML is
a plus.
* Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
* Experience building knowledge bases is highly desired.
