Our biochemical analysis equipment client needs a Contract Tech Writer
with life sciences industry experience to update existing
documentation for operators of molecular diagnostic assay software.
The current user’s guide is four years old and there are changes
marked up on every page. All the screenshots must be updated. The
deliverables include two original sections of the manual and a couple
new ~10-page pieces on optional software modules. You’ll use
FrameMaker to make the edits and revisions, then WebWorks Publisher to
output PDF and HTML-based online help.
This project will begin immediately and conclude in mid-May. You will
be paid on a 1099 or corp-to-corp basis (or W2 if you prefer).
Required:
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Technical Writer
• Experience documenting life-sciences related products, ideally
molecular analytic equipment
• Understanding of what operators need to know from biochemical
analysis software operations documentation
• Willingness to work onsite in Santa Clara to gather information and
take screenshots
Desired:
• Work experience as a technical communicator at BD Biosciences,
Applied Biosystems/Life Technologies, Molecular Design, or similar
companies
