This respected financial services firm needs a staff Technical
Publications Manager to supervise a small team of local Technical

management role, with minimal writing responsibilities.

You’ll work onsite in downtown San Francisco (two blocks from BART, 10

administration documentation for database-driven financial modeling
software. You’ll collaborate with product management and development
teams in an Agile environment, and interface extensively with senior
management.

You’ll report to the Director of Technical Communications but will be
doing that person’s job for the first six months while they’re out on
leave. The ideal candidate will have a background in both software
industry technical writing and the financial industry, excellent
people- and project-management skills, be a talented writer and
editor, and enjoy making highly complex systems accessible.

Required:
* Experience managing a team of Technical Writers creating software
documentation, ideally in an Agile development environment
* Financial industry experience or demonstrated interest in complex
financial investment vehicles
* Long tenures with past employers/clients
* Strong writing and editing, interpersonal, and presentation skills
* Advanced knowledge of (unstructured) FrameMaker and online help
development and architecture

Desired:
* Strong technical understanding of relational databases and XML
* Experience working in a similar role at Barclays Global Investors
(BGI), Calypso, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Fair Isaac (FICO), or a
similar technology-driven financial firm
* Working knowledge of RoboHelp or a similar help authoring tool,
Perforce, SharePoint, and the localization process
