We are looking for a Rancho Cordova Technical Writer for a 6 month
contract to start. If you are interested please do the following max
rate is $26.00hr w2 no benfits offered.

1-Rate
2-Resume
3-Complete Client form

Roles and Responsibilities:
Define, document and execute several large-scale projects, actively
participating in all phases of the project. Actively engage with
several groups to ensure synchronization and awareness of all plans
and tasks. Create project plans and schedules and track progress
against plans. Establish project milestones that reflect realization
of agreed business benefits within timeframe and budget. Identify and
track milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, changes and
dependencies within the schedule. Identify project resource needs;
assign tasks to project resources; conduct cost/benefit analyses and
risk assessments; monitor and review project progress. Responsible for
project risk management. Identify, assess, manage and minimize project
risks to successful project completion. Responsible for project change
control. Ensure the appropriate solution or budget is presented so
that projected business benefits are realized. Ensure revisions to the
project are agreed from stakeholders and full impact of changes is
understood by stakeholders. Serves as liaison with project
stakeholders. Ensure technical proficiency and productivity of project
resources and the quality of project deliverables. Manages and
coordinates resources from a variety of functional areas. Proactive
identify issues, determines resolutions and escalates as needed.
Manage all project activities and deliverables to agreed quality, time
and budget specifications. Communicate project status, milestones and
dependencies to a large audience. Responsible for understanding and
handling change management impacts (e.g. negotiate schedules/time)

Educational Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Project
Management, or other related degree
PMP Certification desired

I'm sorry, but this rate is a slap in the face to our profession. I know you mean well but don't think we should be sending our compatriots to people like Ross Falik. Just my opinion.

What do you suggest then when you hear that other writers have NO work? When you hear that there's no money to pay for food and shelter?

I agree, Marinela, $26 is low, but so is the economy -- probably much worse than the stats we're being given now. So, thank you for sending the job information. We need to support each other however we can.

In fact, our supporting each other is probably the only way this economy is going to get healthier. The system is set up so that the coporations don't give a hoot about the well-being of the workforce.
