Welcome boscage...our group has shrunk over the decade and a half but is made up of "highly" opinionated and even knowledgeable members. I'm an ex DL650 rider. Ex not by choice but by age and old "battle" damage. My old Strom is being used to transport an ex neighbor's son and daughter in law around the country whenever they get a chance to get away..as the old saying goes, it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I can't say which I enjoyed more, my Gen 1 SV (2002) or my 2006 DL. Two rather differently focused bikes which always put a smile on the face. Tell us something about yourself like what part of the country you scoot around in. I live in Podunk Orygun where you judge the seasons by the temperature of the rain and have toured Orygun, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, British Columbia and Vancouver Island. Good times and good memories.

Welcome, indeed.  It's been a while for me to post, but nice to see activity here.  Hope you find what you are looking for here boscage.  This group has been a lifesaver to me and I am forever grateful for their opinion and expertise.  I still ride my blue 05 2nd gen SV which has been modified with a few farkles and enjoy almost a daily ride.  My backup for longer rides is a 98 Honda Magna.

Wow, Bluepepper, it’s been a really long time since we’ve heard from you (or anyone really), good to see that you’re still active in the sport.

 

A good friend of mine that I’ve known since 8^th grade in Hollywood, Florida  (I’m 63 now) just bought a brand new SV.  I pointed him to SVRider.com as a good info resource but also cc’ing this email as an invite for him to join our list here.  He’s out in Tennessee now, I’m in Chicago since 2016.

I know what we can do gang, let's make a musical! Oops sorry , an old influence left over from watching Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland movies back in the 1940's. How about we start an oil thread for the new guy?  IIRC we kept that going for many moons. I had to drive from Portland to St. Helen's just so I could get some rare dino juice whose name is lost in the archives of my fading RAM. Anyway let's keep the new guy entertained  with our collective wisdom or at least our banterings of bulls**t.
