What's Happening?

On June 1st, I started teaching my class: "Ebook and Digital Publishing, is it for me?" This ebook publishing 101 class is being taught through Colorado Romance Writers of America. We are off to a great start, with students from all walks of life and in different stages of their writing career. I'm really excited about the opportunity to share with them what I've learned through trial and error. If you're interested in the class, I'll be teaching it again in August. Hop on over to my website to sign up.

Summer is here, and that means I'll have the kids home from school. My productivity always decreases around this time of year. (Something I'm guessing happens to most of us. :) ) Having said that, I'm determined to finish two projects this summer. The first is a contemporary menage story that will be a stand-alone book. Once the details are finalized, I'll share some tid-bits and excerpts with all of you here.

The second project is the follow-up story to Down on the Boardwalk. See the "behind the scenes" section below for details. :)

Did anyone notice that my website was down this past week? There was a mix-up with my hosting company and as a result it went down for about four days. Incredibly frustrating. I'm happy to announce that the website is back up and live, so keep checking back for updates. Hopefully, I've arranged things so that it won't go offline in the future. Thanks so much for your patience!

Behind the Scenes

Since this is the first newsletter, I thought I would answer a few questions that might be on people's minds.

Will there be another book in the Kyron Pack Series?

Yes!!! I know, I know. It's been a long time since I've written a follow-up to Down on the Boardwalk. This is because the hero of the third book, Josh, has been reluctant to tell me his story. He's a complicated and moody character. A few times I've started his story, but everything just felt wrong. Then about a month ago he started talking and wouldn't stop. ;) Wow - the surprises that came out that night! I'm happy to say that I've written up a story proposal (first three chapters and synopsis) and that my editor over at Loose Id loves it and gave me the green light to finish the story. Hopefully I'll have some good news to share with everyone soon.

Will there be another book in the Immortal Realms series?

Yes!!! Unfortunately, the third story's hero, Talen, is licking his wounds after having such a hard time in Dark Obsession. Right now he just wants me to leave him alone so that he can recover. He's ten times more moody than Josh, and rightfully so. He was pretty abused in the last book. Once he's ready to start talking to me, I'll start writing his story. Hopefully I'll have some news to report around Christmas time.

What else do you have planned for 2011?

In addition to teaching my class and finishing up my two series, I'll have a brand new novella coming out. Honor Bound is my experiment with historical erotic romance and will be released by Red Sage on November 1st. It's about how a samurai goes out on a mission to capture a goddess only to find the resurrection of his deceased lover and an intricate plot that threatens both of their lives. More information, and an excerpt, can be found by clicking on the picture below:

I'm currently in negotiations to publish a second novella, also with a historical setting. The ink isn't dry, so I can't say anything quite yet. Once everything is finalized, I'll announce it on my website, facebook and twitter, so make sure you follow me. ;)
