Everyone!

If you were not aware, SUU is one of only four Utah schools and 186 nationally to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST).  This means that SUU has been recognized as an institution that has met established qualifications and standards. The  standards focus on two main areas which include, the quality of education, and the integrity of the institution.  Educational quality is evaluated using standards that are developed in collaboration with member institutions and professional organizations within the theatre field.  While institutional integrity is reviewed by confirming that the institution is truly delivering the programs it claims to offer while operating according to its own stated policies and procedures.

Part of the evaluation of these areas involve hosting a team of site evaluators.  Our accreditation is up for renewal this year and as such we will be hosting two site evaluators from NAST on campus next Thursday and Friday, November 20 and 21.  You will likely see them observing various classes, touring spaces, and talking with everyone they can.  Part of this also includes talking with you, our students.  They are currently scheduled to meet with students next Thursday from 4-5p in the Auditoirum Tap Studio, AU109.  More information about the meeting will be coming out shortly but I wanted everyone to be aware why there will be a few additional people around next week and what they represent.

If you do not have a class, please work to plan this into your schedule.

All the best,
Brian
