Dear Prof. Sham,
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp is currently seeking college students to join our counseling staff for the 2026 season! Theater education and theater arts majors have the opportunity to serve as mentors and role models for our campers. Share this information with college students who are looking for unique experiences in growing skills and connections!
Camp counselors with theater interests have opportunities to assist in Blue Lake’s theater department, supervise theater students during classes, work with professional faculty, and collaborate with peers. Teaching positions with our junior campers are also available to those who qualify.
Working at Blue Lake gives college students a chance to:
Connect in an arts community: make lasting friendships, lead young people, and receive professional guidance from camp leaders and faculty.
Make an impact: serve as an integral part of the camp experience by inspiring young artists through mentorship and role-modeling.
Enjoy the arts in a natural setting: enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Michigan’s Manistee National Forest while instilling a lifelong love of the arts.
Gain leadership and youth development experience: combine training and practical experience to build skills in communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, community-building, creativity, and more!
Now celebrating its 60th year in operation, Blue Lake is a non-profit summer school of the arts serving thousands of elementary, junior high, and high school students each season. Counseling staff positions span 9 weeks in residence (June 14 – August 16). Salaries range from $2,370-$2,820 for the season, with housing and meals provided, and a season-end bonus for those who qualify.
Please help spread the word to students at Southern Utah University about Blue Lake and our summer positions. For more information, including a link to our online application, visit https://bluelake.org/jobs/counseling-staff/ or contact us at emplo...@bluelake.org or 800-221-3796.
Thanks for your help! We hope to work with your students this summer!
Sincerely,
Joshua Farmer
