YOU'RE INVITED!

The students of Dance Composition I have created "Evening Length Works" based on narratives outside of their own culture in genres they are not proficient in. These works in progress are being shown at 1pm MWF of the coming week with a different show every day.

Come discover the worlds built around this experimentation and witness the product of each choreographer's experiential learning. The artistry and thought put into these works are fascinating and I cannot wait for you to witness them.

The shows are as follows at 1pm in MC 116.

Monday, April 12th
The Chinese Zodiac Race
In order to measure time, the Emperor of China decided to hold a race. The first 12 animals to cross the Great River would be chosen to represent the calendar. This is their journey. (program included as an attachment).

Wednesday, April 14th
The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid is a classic tale, told throughout time of a young mermaid who sacrifices the life she knows for her happy ending with a prince. Join us as we take a journey through the true story of the little mermaid, one of pain and sacrifice, that might not end the way you expect.

Friday, April 16th
Cinderella Reimagined ... Again
This piece is a retelling of the Cinderella story through different cultures and genres of dance. From Cinderella's home life to her dancing at the ball, her story immerses the audience in the depth of storytelling through the exploration of culture through dance.
