My name is Rachel Holman. I am the Artistic Director for Red Rock Dance Festival, held at Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah May 28th-30th 2026. We are now in our 18th year of providing advancement opportunities for dance professionals. We would love for you to come dance with us this Summer!
What is the RED ROCK DANCE FESTIVAL?
As the largest dance event in Southern Utah, Red Rock Dance Festival is a 3 day festival for students, choreographers, and patrons seeking excellence in dance! Produced by the St. George Dance Company, the festival provides the space and environment to learn, exchange ideas, and be inspired by guest artists from across the country. Red Rock combines 3 incredible components including, the Red Rock Choreographic Adjudication and Showcase, a special guest performance by the Artists in Residence, and 3 days of workshop of master classes by the guest artists and esteemed adjudicators. This year we are excited to announce Dance Kaleidoscope as our Artists in Residence! By the end of the festival, each participant leaves feeling renewed and strengthened as a dancer and artist.
Red Rock Choreographic Festival
Submission Deadline March 31st, will waitlist until April 30th
For established or aspiring choreographers seeking to network and build their reputation, the choreographic festival provides an opportunity for creators to present their work on our beautiful Eccles Mainstage Theatre at Utah Tech University. Not only do they receive feedback from world class adjudicators but the top 8-10 finalists will perform at the Choreography Showcase Finals on Saturday, May 30th. This event has drawn choreographers from Massachusetts to California, and brings a wealth of perspectives, voice and experience to the festival. Winners are selected in both Judges’ Choice and Audience Choice categories and each is awarded a $500 cash prize! You can find out more about our Adjudicators for this year in the link below.
Red Rock Festival Workshop

While primarily geared to the university level and dance professionals, Red Rock has something for dancers of all ages and levels of experience. The 3-day workshop provides key, intense training for dancers at the intermediate through professional levels. They will be challenged by master instructors, teaching classes in contemporary, modern, ballet, broadway, jazz, improvisation, and composition. The advanced and professional dancers also have the rare opportunity to make personal connections with professional directors and educators. The repertoire classes from Dance Kaleidoscope and St. George Dance Company alone, are a once in a lifetime experience. Each participant will get a real taste of what it is like to dance professionally. Dancers of any level will grow immensely and leave being one step closer toward their goals.
I have personally submitted work and participated in all performing and training aspects at the festival in years past, and it has been an impactful experience each time. It is a growing opportunity for both aspiring artists and for seasoned dancers and choreographers like yourself.
