[Callboard] ACTOR CALL: Playwriting Club Staged Reading 4-06

Hello all! The Playwriting Club is excited to announce a staged reading on Monday, April 6th, in the SUU Black Box (AU 108)! We are currently looking for actors. A form to sign up as an actor can be found at the bottom of this email.

The plays we will be featuring this Monday are as follows:

Shadows in the Forest by Sophie Hoag - A year after her sister's death, Gabrielle is haunted by her sister. She must work through her typical high school drama while unraveling the truth behind her sister's death.

Please, Not Alone by Crane Ellsworth - Bobby Leroy is used to spending his days alone. Until the day that he’s not. five entities are haunting his living room and it’s a torment. NOTE: Please be aware this piece will have a few content warnings attached to it. Specifics of those content warnings are still in discussion, but this piece will have some heavy themes.

I Need a Hero by Anne Magee - In the middle of a particularly hopeless battle, the Hero is miraculously transported into the world of the Writer who tells their story, only to discover that not even the Writer knows how to get them out of this one. As the Writer works through their writer's block, they and the Hero both find themselves asking the same question: What do we do when we're fighting a battle we can't win?

If you'd like to act in the staged readings, please fill out the Google Form below. If you indicate a preference for which show you would like to be in, we will do our best to honor it (however, depending on cast size we can't guarantee you will all perform in the show of your choice). In the event that we receive more responses than the number of roles available, preference will be given to people who have never read a piece with us before. We will contact you Sunday night with your role and your script!
