Being an Intern Comes with Real Perks

At the Pillow, interns live, work, learn, and create together at the longest-running dance festival in the U.S., cradled by the mountains of the Berkshires in Becket, MA. It's a summer filled with hands-on experience, performances, classes, events, a creative community, and learning moments you can't get anywhere else.

Beyond meaningful work in the arts, interns receive additional benefits:

Financial & Housing Support

  • $3,150 stipend (tax exempt)

  • Room & board in renovated on-campus housing 

  • Three meals per day, plus snacks

Professional Development & Mentorship

  • Career talks, topical discussions, staff-led seminars, and training
  • Two interactive financial foundations workshops for artists and creatives, grounded in values and care, in collaboration with the Artist Resource Collective (ARC)

Immersion in the Festival Experience

  • Free admission to performances across all venues
  • Access to weekly dance workshops with renowned Festival artists and morning classes in a variety of different dance styles
  • Special events like the Pillow Pride Dance Party
