The availability of live preview mode could instead be an optional addition to edit and preview modes - each of which can be toggled on/off as available modes in the vault. This would mean that users can have the vault have any combination of the three modes (E+LP+P / E+P / E+LP / LP+P / E / LP / P) turned on to use in the vault (although of these, it seems like nobody would use just P mode - it might still be useful for a presentation/demo, for instance).
@WhiteNoise I believe the idea is to be able to switch between source LP preview easily. Right now, if you are in preview mode, first you need to toggle back to edit (with or without LP), then toggle between source LP.
It does support css styling, they are different from the old edit mode.
Source mode is what you currently see on mobile. If your theme/snippets work on mobile, they will work in source mode on new desktop editor.
@StefanoCecere @AriesOdyssey you can switch between all three modes with a bit of javascript. If you put this in a Templater template, you can add it as a hotkey. Or any other plugin you prefer to launch arbitrary JS.
My site looks absolutely fine in the editor, but whenever I go to see it in the preview it's completely messed up. Why does this happen?
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
For reference the section that I'm using is one of the premade sections that squarespace gives you.
The password to my site is: website
I solved this.
It was messing up because I was using a premade section from squarespace.
I used a blank section and recreated what I wanted and it turned out fine.
The premade sections mess up the site sometimes.
Is this occurring in a project you started in an earlier version of the engine and have cloned and updated to 4.9? Besides not previewing, do the variables seem to function in game? If you open the Third Person Blueprint template in 4.9 and test the Jump and Speed variables in the AnimBlueprint, do they work?
The blueprint template works fine oddly enough. The only thing i remember doing before upgrading to 4.9.1 that could cause this issue was creating a child animation blueprint based off of the blueprint seen in the video I linked.
Would you mind sending the project with the asset shown in the attached video? You can send as an attached zip to this post if small enough. Otherwise, you can send via dropbox or as an attachment in a Private Message. This is the fastest way for us to isolate the bug and enter a report if needed
It is very inconvenient that when you are in preview mode for a whole course and make it to a particular page, see something that needs to be fixed, and click the edit button you are taken back to the home screen for the whole course, instead of directly into the edit mode of that particular page. So then you have to scroll down and find that page again to edit it, which can be cumbersome if you have a lot of lessons in a course.
Additionally when you are working in a page and click the close lesson/back button to get back to the home screen of the course to add another lesson or add content to a lesson, it takes you back to the top of the page, instead of back down to the level of the lesson you were just working on. So once again if you have a lot of lessons it takes a lot of scrolling, which over time really adds up. I know you can click control+down arrow to take you to the bottom of the page, but that isn't necessarily where you want to go every time either. I have courses with up to over 200 lesson pages, so I feel like I am doing a lot of unnecessary scrolling:(
Hi Kelly-Anne, glad you're checking out Rise! You've got some great ideas, and and I can see how those features would make your life easier, especially when you're working on a course with so many lessons.
If, as we do, you want the course author on playback from a LMS to display as a corporate rather than named author we change the first name and last name in our account profile setting, just prior to export to: first name 'A training course by' and last name 'XYZ Corporation' then the author in the exported SCORM file replays as the corporate author.
Post export we reset the first and last name in the profile to the licensed course builder. For us this is better than using the 'hide author' function as we don't want anonymity and this helps to establish our intellectual property rights.
In creating the course I find myself mostly in edit mode, and looking for some way to improve navigation in this mode. I often jump around lessons to make improvements, and would like to avoid returning to the beginning of the course each time I depart a lesson. Any ideas?
When you're finished editing a lesson in Rise 360, you'll click the back arrow to return to the main menu page to select another lesson to edit. It sounds like you'd prefer the ability to jump directly from one lesson to another. I'd be happy to share your idea with my team!
In making the case it may help to mention that courses can be hefty. Mine has 13 chapters, and a total of 134 lessons, plus a quiz for each chapter. I hope you can understand why a navigate facility in Edit mode would be valuable.
As such, we often develop significant technical programmes that provide accreditation in units of 1 to 2 hours per unit. Taken together a typical set of units would evolve into around 20-30 hours of on-line study. Embedded in these units would be knowledge tests around every 5-10 minutes of study time and time-bound quizzes with scored pass marks at the end of each unit.
In a unit that is under development at the moment, there are 9 lessons and study time is estimated at 2 hours. Editing can be a real pain as, for example, in preview mode when being thrown back to the beginning of a lesson means that the developer might have to arbitrarily select boxes or question answers in order to navigate to the point where changes have to be made. So if we could, in edit and preview mode, have some sort of forward/back seek mode or a search mode to get quickly to the editing point it would be a thrill. It's much easier in Storyline as we can zoom out and then select the frame for editing.
One thing we have found useful, however, is to use the Block Copy mode to highlight a number of blocks to be copied and then to move them to one or more other units to help rapidly build a framework for a Rise Course. We've done this, for example, to set up standard course 'Objectives' descriptions at the front of courses or units.
Hello. Pardon me if I do not explain my question very well, but is there an option/plugin to disable the left editor of my screen, which shows the cleartext. I want to see only the rendered markdown text.
Another option is the richtext editor which is the button in the top right:
But you can't use actual markdown in it, you have to use the in built editor controls. The note is still saved as markdown but there are limitations.
Thanks for the reply.
I want to use vanilla markdown as I don't really like rich text editing. Honestly, this seems like a feature which should be included in most markdown apps.
I will try to search for plugin that can do this. It's elegant IMO to read and write everything in the same window, without having to deal with previews.
It would be great if you had an option to edit the preheader (or preview text) that viewers can see on their phones for sales sequences. This option is already available in HubSpot Marketing, but I would love to see this for sales sequences.
Went through this same issue with Support today, it seems so strange that preview text customisation is supported for 1-off marketing emails but not for (arguably much more important) email sequences.
Edit: I figured out that reading the docs is a good thing. The scroll is still not ideal at the preview window but setting the editor font to 14 and the preview font to 10 via the custom CSS solved it. I tried to add margin or padding to the bottom to the preview body but nothing happened, is it possible?
I have been using the AppImage on Linux Mint for some time (including the pre-releases up to 1.2.4), and the font size control using Joplin settings for the editor pane and userstyle.css for the viewer pane has always worked. However from the image in your GitHub issue it looks like it's the editor font that is huge as opposed to the viewer. Do you want the editor (left pane) font smaller or the viewer (right pane) font larger?
I don't know what was the real reason but I got it finally.
I had userstyles.css instead of userstyle.css. And I had two files that were created in .config/joplin-desktop/tmp so I removed them.
The look of Joplin and the editor can be modified using userchrome.css (Red area in the below picture). The look of the viewer pane is modified using userstyle.css (Green area in the below picture).
I am implementing HubSpot Sales and CRM company-wide. We are starting with the most important features and rolling out 'nice-to-haves' as adoption increases. We are not using Tickets, Workflows, Memberships, or Playbooks at this time. Those features (and others_ automatically show in the preview and right sidebar (in a record). Seeing these features confuses our new users and makes the system seem overly complex and thus overwhelming. I would like the ability to limit content on preview and right sidebar panes similar to the ability already available in the left sidebar on records. This will greatly increase the usability of the system for new users. It is also a standard feature of several competitor systems. Thank you for considering my idea.
Hi everyone,
I am excited to announce that customization of the CRM preview sidebar is now live to all customers! You can read more about the feature in the release notes and knowledge base. Happy customizing!
