FOOD ACTIVISM MAKES A DIFFERENCE: LESSONS FROM THE GLOBAL CONFLICT
OVER GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS (GMOs)
A discussion with Dr. Peter Andrée
A professor in the Political Science Department at Carleton University
in Ottawa, Peter will be speaking on the subject of his recent book,
"Genetically Modified Diplomacy," published by UBC Press in 2007. His
talk will focus on the way that citizen activism around GMOs in the
late 1990s and early 2000s helped to create a precautionary regulatory
response to these new technologies at the international level.
