FARMING IN PALESTINE: RESISTANCE TO OCCUPATION

A discussion with Robert Massoud, Founder of Zatoun, Fair Trade Olive Oil from Palestine

Farming in Palestine is the most basic act of resistance to occupation and oppression.  Farmers in Palestine are at the forefront of the struggle for social justice and economic freedom.  Land as cultural identity, and the use of land as livelihood, hold the key to peace. People in the West can play a vital role in supporting this process and outcome.

Please join us as Robert discusses how Zatoun, a Palestinian non-profit volunteer organization, has helped to build bridges and make connections between social, environmental, and transnational justice.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1st / 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Kawartha World Issues Centre
Basement of the Environmental Science Building, next to the Crypt

Free - all welcome - bring your lunch!  Fair trade olive oil, soap, and za'atar will be available for purchase.
