Subject: Take Action - Sen. Baldwin Steps Up For Utah Wilderness
It’s Thanksgiving time! Please give Sen. Baldwin a quick call at 202-224-5653 and tell her:
“Thank you for stepping up for Utah wilderness and signing Sen. Durbin’s letter to Interior Sec. Bernhardt opposing the Bureau of Land Management’s plan to transfer title of public lands to the State of Utah.”
Sen. Baldwin’s signature on this letter (see attached) is quite helpful because it’s an obscure issue so it’s hard to get it the attention it deserves. The difficulty has to do with the thousands of fake highway claims coming from the State of Utah and several counties. It’s a devious effort to further Utah’s long standing desire to take control of U.S. public lands and block wilderness designations. The letter targets a Trump administration effort to establish a precedent that would allow them to give away lands owned by the American people. It’s an obscure, arcane, and important issue. With all the chaos happening in Washington, DC these days it’s especially important to let Sen. Baldwin know you appreciate her attention to this matter and her support for Utah wilderness in general.
