Sustain Club: Chipotle Gift Cards!

Hi All,

I hope everyone is enjoying their day off. We probably won't get too many of these, so make the best of it. 

First, I am pleased to announce the start of two competitions for this semester. These competitions will both end on 4/16. We'll be releasing bi-weekly updates to let you know who's currently in the lead. 

Terracycling - TerraCycle is an organization that 'up-cycles' previously non-recyclable, or difficult-to-recycle, waste. The collected waste is then converted into new products, ranging from recycled park benches to up-cycled backpacks. Check out what products we are collecting via the link below. Common items include snack bags, energy bar wrappers, ink & toner, and solo cups. Bring your bags of terracycling to Club Meetings, and we will count it up and send it out. The top three terracyclers will win the prizes below. Pretty cool, right?

2nd Place - $40 Chipotle gift card

3rd Place - $20 Chipotle gift card

Net Impact Challenge - The net impact competition challenges college students to change their lifestyle habits by rewarding them for logging acts of green. For every act of green that you log, Net Impact's sponsors will donate money to a charity of your choice. Since the start of the initiative, UD has already raised $268.50 to charity and reduced 1,143 lbs of CO2. Not only does recording actions make our school look good, but this is another chance to win a few gift cards for going green. Also, don't be discouraged if it looks like some members have a huge number of points. Everyone is starting this semester with a clean slate (we will track this), even though the site will track your ongoing total. 

Prizes TBA - Gift cards to somewhere! Amounts are going to be similar to the Terracycling competition.

Second, the SEE LLC is sponsoring a trip to the Newport Aquarium in Cincinnati this Saturday (February 1st), and we will be accompanying them. The cost will be covered by the SEE LLC and transportation will be provided! Please email me (schues...@udayton.edu) ASAP if you are interested in going so that I can reserve seating for you.

Finally, this is a reminder that you only have one more day to fill out the club interest form and tell us what other trips you want to go on. Do it!
