Pending bill 5151 would foolishly gut MassSave - please contact your state rep

Please contact your Massachusetts state representative..."save Mass Save".  A brief phone message or a short email... even if you have not done so before.  

Refer to house bill H 5151 (a rewrite of the original bill H 4744 that constituents got stalled for three months).

The utilities have written a bill that guts the Mass Save program, so helpful to homeowners with cutting energy bills.  if enough people flood the 160 state reps, there is a good chance that we can save most/all of Mass Save.  Those utilities have agreed to allow some efficiency items to get in, but have really pressured House leadership to drain Mass Save to protect their increasing private profits.

“Hello, I am your constituent [YOUR NAME] calling from [YOUR ADDRESS]. I am calling about H.5151, the Energy Omnibus Bill happening too fast this week. While there are some exciting provisions in the bill that we have advocated for around solar energy and clean heat, both of which cut utility bills, as well as curbing toxic biomass- I urge you to oppose the $1 billion cuts to Mass Save. Mass Save is saving us $2.72 for every dollar invested. We need to take on the biggest sources of high utility bills: utility companies spending billions on dirty, expensive fossil fuel infrastructure and millions on lobbying and executive salaries. I will follow up with specific amendment numbers when we have them.”
