clarification about my thesis extension

Dear all,

I hope all of you are doing great!

I heard from some of you that the whole class are vary curious about and have been discussing why Vivian had an extension for her thesis, below is the reason.

One "expert interview" of my thesis was supposed to be conducted few weeks before our thesis deadline, however, because of the interviewee's personal reasons, it didn't happen until the 29th, July, the day when you guys handed in your thesis. I was informed about the updated interview date on 26th, July and I applied for few days extension immediately to Lene and Frank, they  understood that my reason was unavoidable and out of my own control, so they gave me 5 days extension to finish my interview, "method" and "result" session.

Some of you maybe knew that Vivian was a bit struggling with the structure of her thesis. BUT this was not at all my reason for applying extension. Since I knew this would be the same situation for most of us and I never worried that I cannot finish my thesis till I got the notification from my interviewee.( I was thinking I can finish the thesis if the interview can be arranged to 26th, July, but it didn't)

I hope my email can clear the clouds in your head, and as you know, few more days means few more pressures, which I really don't want.

About the extension, I got 4 days. The main reason was I had a very VIP interviewee for my thesis, and he was on vacation for a long time and only back to Aarhus on 29th July, so my interview, method&result writing of thesis were all delayed. So I wrote email to Lene asking about two weeks extension, but she gave me 4.

I think it must be Rajiv who knew this first, because he also applied but rejected. This is also the reason I was hiding this from all of you guys, I don't wanna him to feel upset. I simply didn't have time to comfort him or do sth else at that time, now I have....(But personally, I think I got a better time management for my thesis and the reason for delay was out of my control...this is also the reason why I got the approval but Rajiv didn't)
