Did you know that you can drop off your household alkaline and rechargeable batteries that no longer work at your local Staples store for recycling? It's free (in NY, not CT), and of course it's better for the planet to recycle them into new items than to throw them in the trash. The Staples store in Mt. Kisco has a bin on the Customer Service counter for battery recycling.
