Hi Sustainable Lewisboro folks:

Here is information on an upcoming free webinar to reinvigorate Westchester's "Upon Request" Law (no utensils, condiments, etc. with restaurant orders unless requested).

Neil

Did you know plastic utensil packets, plastic coffee stirrers, and plastic splash guards are banned in Westchester County? Did you know businesses are only supposed to give out utensils, condiments, and straws if a customer requests them?

Westchester County's Upon Request Law saves businesses and consumers money by eliminating the purchase and disposal of stuff nobody uses or wants! Eliminating disposable stuff benefits the environment and our health. Join us as we launch a community-led initiative to educate and build compliance among businesses and the public. We will be joined by County Legislator Erika Pierce (District 2), who sponsored the legislation which took effect in 2023, Judith Enck of Beyond Plastics, and Scarsdale restaurant Popojito restaurant will share their "Upon Request" success story.

To learn how YOU can help, join our launch webinar Wednesday July 15th on Zoom from 7:30 to 8:30pm co-hosted by Westchester Alliance for Sustainable Solutions, Beyond Plastics Lower Westchester, Mothers Out Front, Bedford2030, Sustainable Westchester, Climate Reality Project, and Green Ossining.
